From Via Nomentana to Vatican

Hi there,

we are planning to go to Vatican museum in thursday, we´ve already had pre - tickets from web to 10 a.m., so we need to be there in time or few minutes before, for sure. But I really don´t know how LONG will take our transfer from hotel in the north part of Via Nomentana (near Bologna station, so it´s quite far. Can somebody help me?

I know we can use an underground (metro A to Ottaviano) or bus (number 62 to Piazza Pia), but I am not able to estimete time of this travel. Thanks!

Tale Metro line B (15 mins to Termini) change to line A and get of at Ottaviano (another 10 mins or so).

The whole trip by Metro shouldn't take more than half an hour (speaking from personal experience here).

I've noticed there's a direct 19 tram that could be used between the two points. I don't know if that's any better than the Metro or not.

The Metro is faster than the buses

Tram # 19 doesn't pass on via Nomentana - you would have to go catch it at viale Regina Margherita, and the trip to the Vatican would take at least an hour.

While it may gave an over-generous connection time and may assume you walk slowly a journey planning website says Metro between the two points will take 25 minutes, while the tram would take 38 minutes (on a weekday.)

Since you're staying on Via Nomentana, do you know about nearby Villa Torlonia and the surrounding park? It looks fascinating and it's on my list of places to explore.
