Multi-city package deal or book air+hotel seperately?

My friend and I are planning our first trip to Italy (Venice, Florence & Rome) for April 1st-14th, 2007. I'm not sure whether to shop for a multi-city pacakge deal that covers air+hotels in all three cities.... or whether to book it all seperately. Any suggestions regarding how to get the best deal would be very welcome! Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Bridget!

In my experience, it totally depends. Depends on the time of year you're going, the caliber of hotel at which you're staying, etc. We got a great deal booking everything in a package when we went to Paris last year, but this year, we booked everything separately and saved a bunch. We even booked directly with the airline and (5*) hotels--no package deal via a Web site like Expedia could come close to what they offer on their own Web sites.

So I would advise you to start looking now and do a LOT of comparison shopping if you want the best deal.

Good luck!
