Udine on a Monday afternoon?

I am traveling back from Trieste to Vienna in May after participating in the Maratonina, so I am sure still tired.

Since my night train leaves only at 10pm I thought I come earlier from Trieste and have a look around.

So I guess there are lockers in the station where I can leave my luggage? I couldn't find an page about the station with this information.

And I can stroll through the city? Nice restaurant close by?

Sorry for the late reply, I hope it can still provide some value.

IMHO Udine train station area isn't the most beautiful (and safe) city area, especially after dusk. My suggestion is that you spend some extra time in Trieste. The area from train station up to Piazza Unità d'Italia provides some really nice scenery.

If you really want to check out Udine, it seems there are no lockers in the station anymore (http://usenet.it.rooar.com/showthread.php?t=804465 - in Italian, but google translate can help). Train station is just opposite to bus station, though. And according to their website, they do have lockers in there: http://www.autostazionediudine.it/

You can send an email, if you wish to be sure. Contacts here:
