Cinque Terre Itinerary

Hi All,

We have a 6 night window between Mykonos and Ibiza and were hoping for some downtime in the Cinque Terra & Italian coastline . After some initial research, we were planning on flying into either Florence or Milan and train:

Cinque Terra/La Spezia - 3 nights

Portofino - 1 night

Genoa - 2 nights

Before I get into booking or looking at accomodation, does this look like a reasonable distribution of our time? Is there anything major in the region we have overlooked?

Between crazy Mykonos and Ibiza we just wanted to take in some magic and relax.

hi: usually 2 nights means one day in a place...so what were your plans in Portofino with just a one night stay....with only 6 nights (5 days) and the desire to relax, I would only visit two distinct areas and plan longer stays....also, transport between point A and B takes time as well....

Portofino is viciously expensive, and Genoa is a busy commercial city which is not everyone's idea of relaxation. If you stayed in Santa Margherita Ligure, for example, you could visit Portofino in 15 minutes by bus or boat, and visit Genoa in 30-50 minutes by train

Thanks for the response - I just had a look at hotel prices in Portofino and yes, financially its not doable. Santa Margherita Ligure does look like a good base.
