food! for self catering accommodation

We are due to arrive in Manarola hopefully around 6pm on a Saturday and renting an apartment.

Can anyone recommend a pizzeria for Saturday night?

But, more importantly, can anyone advise whether there are going to be shops (bakers/groceries) open - so that we will have something to eat the next day!!

Thanks

Hello Retired

No problem . In Manarola when exit by the tunnel a front you find a food store and another up 30 meters. If you go on left by the tunnel you find pizzerie also take away. .

Enjoy mino

Yes, but be careful with the the hours - most shops (grocery, etc) close around 730 in the villages and are closed Sunday.

If your staying a while in the apartment it may be worth getting the train into La Spezia sunday am. The supermarket Superbasko will be open on sunday morning

Thanks for that - but do you think that the grocery shops in Manarola will be open in October until 7.30pm? It's not the main tourist season, is it?

Thanks for that. How far is this supermarket from the train station in La Spezia? I guess it would be a lot cheaper than the village shops.

Super Basko is about 10 minute walk from the station.

Walk down from the station through Piazza St Bon and on to the pedestrianised Via Roma. .To Piazza Garibaldi turn right at the fountain on to via Garibaldi and Super Basko is on the 2nd left on Via Roma.

I think its open till either 12.30 or 1.00 pm
