Hi there, will be spending New Years Eve in Genova. Would like to have dinner out somewhere in the centro storico or short walk from the area, and then join the crowds in the streets for the festivities. The restaurants I see with special "cenone" (big dinners) for New Years expect that you'll want to stay within the restaurant for the whole evening through the stroke of midnight, from what I gather. I'm concerned everything will be reservation-only or closed. Hoping that we can just wander around, drop in without reservations someplace casual, and then continue on to the various bars, etc...while enjoying the festivities on the street. Does anyone out there know if this would be the case? Thanks much!
