Parking while in Cinque Terra

We are driving to Cinque Terra and know parking is rare to nonexistent there. We thought that staying in La Spezia and going to Cinque Terra by train each day might solve the parking problem. Any thoughts?

It would probably solve the parking problem, provided your hotel has parking, but La Spezia is not the most pleasant place to stay. You might do better to go to Levanto, at the other end of the CT. It's a nice seaside town with a beach and plenty of restaurants.

Villa Margherita is a pleasant hotel with its own secure covered parking: see www.villamargherita.net

We stayed at this hotel partly for the free carpark belonging to the hotel. It was just across the road with a locked gate.

Once we had the car parked we just used the trains and ferries or walked between the towns.

Some of the hotels have their own parking particularly in Monterosso which is the largest town.
