No problem. We went on a Sunday. Train from Bergamo to Varenna (you may have to change at Lecco). Takes between 60 and 90 minutes. Walk down the hill from Varenna station and there are regular ferries to Bellagio (15 minutes across the lake). But explore Varenna as well --- a delightful lakeside village with steep cobbled streets. Check train times on the Trenitalia website.
I am travelling to Bergamo in August with a group of 13 girls
for a hen wkend. We are trying to plan a trip to Lake Como also.
Would you let us know how your goes????? How you got there

Great! Thanks it will be a great help.

Im also after this info. Im planning to fly to Bergamo with Ryanair 7-10 September for our 25th wedding anniversary. Only 3 nights as we have the leave the children behind. Not sure whether to base ourselves in Bergamo and do Milan one day and then Lake Como, or just go up to Varenna and so the ferries. Any ideas? The Orange House looks good on the website.
