Bergamo on a Sunday

We will be overnighting in Bergamo -- on our way from Milan to Budapest -- early this autumn. We have two questions...

#1 We will be there on a Sunday afternoon and evening. Are most places (shops, attractions, cafes, restaurants, etc) closed on Sundays?

#2 Our flight leaves early Monday morning. In general, what is the best (most efficient) way to get to Bergamo airport from "town"? [We are not yet sure where we will be staying.]

Thanks, in advance, for any info or advice!

Hi!

The best way to get to the airport from Bergamo is the number 1 bus:

www.atb.bergamo.it/ENG/Default.aspx…

It's a short ride and it is frequent.

Most shops are closed but not all in CItta Bassa whereas most shops are open in CItta Alta ( Old Town )

On Sundays there may be an event in CItta Bassa in which case you'll find more shops open.

The funicular up to CItta Alta and San Vigilio is working on Sundays.

Bye :)
