What should I pack for August?

Does it get cool at night? Should I bring a sweatshirt? Is it buggy by the lake? Do I need to buy some repellent? Thank you.

No, in August it's very humid at night but in any case you should bring a pashmina for restaurants with air conditioning. You will definitely need an insect repellent.

Insect repellent? Really? In nine years here the only time I've ever needed bug juice was going into Milan at night during the summer. I certainly wouldn't bother packing it -- they sell it in any pharmacy in any case, so you can always pick some up if you do wind up needing it.
