where to stay....please advise.

Planning a trip to Sirmione from 09/09-09/18. We are coming from Boston with 11 months old baby. From your personal experience, could you please advise on a hotel. Too many choices, kind of lost. Preferably with breakfast and pool. Very much appreciated!

It might be good for a baby to be surrounded by trees and green like in the Palace Villa Cortina.

Depends on how much you wish to pay I guess. The Continental Hotel is lovely and has a pool, 4 star hotel. There's also the Terme Hotel/Spa that has pools. I stayed in a 3 star hotel Marconi which had fabulous staff and service and is right in the centre with terrace area on the lake, however there's no pool (though you can swim in the lake directly from the terrace).

When booking a hotel in Sirmione always look for one within the historic walled town, best locations are on the facing west as the sunsets are spectactular. Many of the hotels in he historic area have been established 100 years or more and have had many famous guests, such as Hemmingway, Ezra Pound, Churchill.

The Catullo or the Pace or the Eden are very good. My choice in Sirmione is always the Catullo (just read the reviews), the Pace is run by the same family. The Eden is a very similar type of hotel as is the Hotel Flaminia, The Luna has a good reputation and but lacks a water front location.
