Stresa to Grindlewald by public transport

Going to Stresa on hoiliday but want to visit The Eiger/Jungfrau railway - is it possible by public transport and how expensive would it be?

Time-consuming and expensive unless you are stopping over.

Your outward journey to Grindelwald would take 3.5 hours http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html

Stresa to Grindelwald is about 3.5 hours one way, so perhaps a tad long as a day trip - see www.sbb.ch/en.

The Eiger bahn is quite pricey - 177 francs roundtrip from Grindelwald to the top - jungfrau.ch/en/…

Wow! Thanks for the tip - maybe I'll just stay on the ground and stare up in wonder at that price...
