Shopping in December?

I'm going to Italy in December and planning to stop over in Milan for couple of days to do some shopping (20-22 Dec)

Is there any chances of sales/discounts at that time of the year?

Hi Leno4ka,

that's just days before Christmas, when everybody is buying the last presents and shopkeepers are trying to cash in as much as they can. That means that it is probably the period in the whole year where prices are at their highest, so to exploit the Christmas-presents frenzy.

Winter sales begin at the end of the season's holidays, usually after Epiphany (6 Jan.), that is from 7 Jan. onwards.

BUT: it is also the period of the year when shops are at their best (lots of choices, luxury, decorations, lights, extended opening hours, ...); you will enjoy your shopping in Milan even if you won't save much money!

Don't forget to buy some typical Italian Christmas sweets!
