I will be arriving at Milan Linate around 9PM from Brussels, mid week and want to take a cab to my hotel on Via Lentasio. I have never been to Milan other than to take a shuttle to the train station in broad daylight with my husband helping us both out with signs etc.
What is Milan Linate? I thought the airport was Malpensa? Once I land, can I assume that cab drivers can be hailed easily and will be trustworthy? Sorry to sound like a jerk but while I know a small amount of Italian it isn't enough to help me if the cab driver goes the wrong way or can't understand my accent. Is writing out the hotel address on a piece of paper acceptable?
Does anyone know how far Via Lentasio is from Milan Linate? I believe my hotel is near the Duomo.
Finally, although I'll be using a company credit card, are the rates posted on a meter in all cabs? Thanks for your help! I plan to do this trip a couple of times a year so hopefully after this first trip, I won't be a Milano newbie anymore!
