Milan centrale

My wife and I arrive at Milan Centrale railway station at 05.40 on the overnight Thello train from Paris in July. Our transfer train to Stresa does not leave until 08.25. I would like to know:

1. What time does the station open?

2. Are there any waiting rooms that are open?

3. What facilities are available?

4. Is it a busy railway station at this early hour?

3. Is the station safe a safe place at this early hour?

Many thanks

1. Re: Milan centrale

The station is always open.

Not as such

Toilets/caffes/bars -I doubt the shops will be open at that hour

The station will be relatively quiet at that time

As safe as any large train station worldwide

You havent thought of getting a Stresa taxi driver to meet you at the arrival of your train?

The station will be open but not the best of places to arrive at that time in the morning but you will be able to get coffee from 6am so I would just stay in there.
