Train Malpensa to Rome Still Operating?

I can't seem to find the 12:22 Malpensa Train directly to Rome on the trenitalia website.

Does it still run? If so what are the stations so I can find it on the website.

Thanks

I don't think there has ever been a train from Malpensa direct to Rome, and there certainly is not one now. You have to take a local train to Milano Centrale (or sometimes Milano Porta Garibaldi) and change there for a fast train to Rome.

You can get train times and costs from www.trenitalia.com clicking on the UK flag to change to English and using the Italian names for towns (Malpensa Aeroporto to Roma Termini).

By direct I mean leaving directly from the airport, not direct to Rome.

For two years, there was a 12.22 from Malpensa direct to Rome and Naples. It stopped running in June 2012.

As already advised, take http://www.malpensaexpress.it/en/ to Milano Centrale and a Trenitalia train from there.

Thanks for the info.

Do you also know if special Cartafreccia fares are only for Italians?

Cartafreccia tickets are effectively only for Italian residents, as to receive the card you must show on the train you must have an Italian address.
