Trains from Orta to milan

We will be in Orta next week for our sons wedding and we would like to go to milan for the day. We have a hire car but do not want to drive in to milan. I have looked on the trenitalia website and the train from Orta Miasino takes 2 hours to milan centrale with 1 change.

Can anyone advise if there is an alternative station we could drive to get a quicker train route to and from milan.

Thanks

Terry

If you are prepared to drive to Novara, there are trains to Milan frtom there every few minutes.

Alternatively you could drive to Stresa and get the train there.

Orta to Stresa is about 30 mins and then it's 1/1.5 hours by train, depending on the type of train.

Orta to Novara would be about 1 hour plus 40 mins to 1 hour on the train.

Parking in Stresa would be easier than in Novara, but you have less choice of trains. Either way, it will be hard to get from Orta to Milan in significantly less than 2 hours.
