Any recommendations for amazing off-the-beaten-path resto?

Hi!

I was going to do an evening food tour in Venice but they have all sold out :( Can anyone please recommend a fantastic hole in the wall or locals restaurant in Venice? Thanks! :)

Kurt

And yet another vote for Trattoria Dalla Marisa on the Cannargio Canal. You will not find anything more traditionally Venician than this place. And for lunch it is an absolute bargain but best getting there at 12 as it becomes very very busy.

Oh Sophie8, Having eaten in Dalla Marisa a number of times I would rate it way above 'Rustic', Eating off newspaper rather than crockery with your fingers is 'rustic' and Dalla Marisa is way above that," Unusual, Authentic Venetian, Fascinating and an experienced not to be missed that should be on everyone's Bucket list" is a better way to describe it. What you order may not be what ends up in front of you, the waitress may not appreciate you suggesting this was not what you ordered and tell you to your face with a suggestion that you may wish to take your custom elsewhere in the future. But it will be delicious and satisfy even people like me who are blessed with the fuller figure and an appetite to match

IMO, nothing is really off the beaten path in Venice, since each and every path has been beaten to a pulp by us visitors. There are restaurants which are better than others, perhaps around the corner from a main drag but it will not be a shhhhhh secret.
