Hi Guys can anyone recommend something cheap and nice to do in Venice. Myself and boyfriend are going soon for a few days with not a massive amount of money.
Just walk around the city, getting away from the major tourist spots. Take a free guided tour around the ghetto area. Go to the Tourist Office and pick up some information. Read a guide book.
Buy a 24 (or 48 or however long your stay) hour vaporetto pass and travel the length of the Grand Canal.
Visit some of the free exhibitions which are spread all over the city as part of the Art Biennale.
Take a free guided tour of the Basilica of San Marco (11am every weekday, English language tours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday).
Walk, walk, walk and soak up the city.Edited: 19 September 2017, 14:02
Anne's right just walk, so much to see a surprise around every corner, although a small Island plenty to see,
Worth getting a guide book, DK Venice Top Ten is good basic and has a decent map in it,
We spend hours per day just strolling around Venice and there is something wonderful at every turn. Stop for coffee or a glass of Prosecco to celebrate yourselves in Venice.
