Don't stay in Treviso, you'll spend all your time on bus or train!

Venice need not be so expensive, and stuck out in Treviso (a nice little town, but not that exciting) you'll miss the magic.

Try places like Calle della Corte or Allogia delle Scale, or even Venice youth hostel, for reasonably-priced accomodation.

Stay in Venice I agree with Codsal, have a look at B&B's they are very good value and should not be too expensive in March

End of March is low season. Look at booking.com, or hotels.com for what's available, and affordable, then go to the hotels own websites. Every time Iv'e looked, the hotel prices have been lower. I an often very surprised at the bargains Iv'e seen. Don't forget to read reviews before booking.

Treviso is one of my favorite towns, but I agree, if your intention is to visit Venice, particularly towards the end of March which is low season in most hotels in Venice, it is a bit of a haul.

Maybe think of a couple of days in Treviso and a few in Venice (Treviso is magical as well, even in the winter). But roughly half hour plus each way is probably not much of a savings, particularly as the scenery is not anything special.

I agree, the B&B's are good value - i've just booked one in March for 85 euro W/e and 75 euro weekdays in March. There are cheaper ones, but this one is brand new and very central. Shame that you have to go Ryan Air, I'd choose Easyjet anyday

I would always choose Easyjet over Ryanair, but really depends where you live, sometimes the option does not arise,

I agree with everyone to stay in Venice, the ATVO bus from the airport is so easy, maybe even easier than getting to Treviso

I agree Sohpie... at the moment we have neither from our local airports... never thought I'd miss Ryanair !! they pulled out of Liverpool last year

If you do decide to stay in Treviso (why?) then you will need to take the train from Treviso station - see www.trenitalia.it for timetables.

However Venice in end of March is likely to be low season (Easter is late this year and Easter Sunday is not until 24 April) for at least some Hotels so rates should be lower.

There is everything to eb said for staying in Venice so that you can enjoy an evening meal and a stroll through the calles and campos.

Apologies - I didn't mean my Ryanair comment to come across the way it did - obviously it depends on availability. Ryanair is OK, I just don't like their hidden charges. Hope you have a good time in Venice - I'm certainly looking forward to our trip.
