What are you referring to? There are a number of cards sold through Venice Connected, but no "Venice Connected Card".

If you mean the transport passes, they are activated when you pick them up and they expire after exactly the number of hours purchased.

You also know when they expire as you get a Red light when you activate, which you have to do each time you use it,

When you pick up the Tourist Travel Card, it should also have printed the expiration date and time. It was that way picking some up from the staffed VeniceConnected windows at the airport and outside the train station, at least. I have not had the opportunity to use the automatic ticketing machines to pick up transport passes ordered through VeniceConnected, but suspect they will be printed as well with the exact time and date of expiration.

I don't think they do have the date printed on them unfortunately - or at least they don't if you collect them from a Venice Connected counter at the Vapporetto stop. To make matters worse, all the tickets look the same and as I purchased two different tickets at the same time, I had to go back to the office to get them to check which one was which as they looked identical ! (each card has the info about the card programmed into it so that the card readers can tell if it is valid).

When you order your transport pass on VC, you have to specify the start date (but not the start time) as this affects the price that you are charged. You then have to collect it from a ticket machine or office on that day, at which point I understand, the clock starts ticking !

It could be that it has changed, as the last time I picked them up was more than a year ago.

There should be a yellow question mark button on all of the validation machines which should give information about the remaining tickets/validity/etc. without having to ask the ticket office (if the machine is working correctly, something which, with ACTV, is not necessarily a "given").

You should write down the date & time when you're using your card the very first time as it's considered as activation time. The expiry date & time will be according to the type of card you purchased.

Yes you can use the yellow info button but the information it gives is very brief. If you are checking an unused card, you also have to be extremely careful that it doesn't validate it !

If you are picking up a Venice Connected Pass it is validated when you pick it up not when you first use it,

We planned a trip for Italy Sept 2009 but never got there. I bought a Venice Connected card for that trip and got a 6 digit PNR confirmation.

We are going to Venice in March 2012 and wonder if I can use this PNR # to get the 48 Hour card that I paid for in 2009 but never used.

The order summary shows 48H public transport ticket for 2 people and has a season category with boxes underneath. We paid 47.60E in 2009 for this voucher. Not sure if it expires as we never used it.

Also don't know if it can be used at Venice museums as notes public transport and venice Casino on it.

Unfortunately, no. You must pick up a transport pass from Venice Connected on the arranged day. If you do not, you have lost your money.
