Lido - public beach how far

We are staying in Venice for a week in August but may go to Lido for a day in sun. How far is it to the nearest public beach? Is it worth walking longer for a better bit of beach?

Thank you

Or walk to the end turn to your left and go in the first entrance and pay for an umbrella and sun beds and use the facilities of the pay beach. The free beach is directly in front of you and not well tended,
