Time to Marco Polo airport from Venice

At the end of our 10 days trip to Italy we are spending 2 nights in Venice (not sure about the hotel yet). Trying to figure out the best (more reasonable price and time-wise) way to get to Marco Polo airport by 9AM on September 2nd. Alilaguna does not allow on-lne reservation "due to public holidays" (Venice Film Festival, of course). I found Venice Link and it seems more or less reasonable except I can't find anywhere how long is the ride to the airport.

Would it be more reasonable to stay the night before in Padua? Any advice is appreciated.

You can take a vaporetto to Piazzale Roma, then a bus to Marco Polo airport. The bus takes about 20 minutes, and the time on the vaporetto will depend on where you are staying.

There are no ACTV vaporetti running from Venice city to Marco Polo airport. There is the Alilaguna ferry which tends to be rather slow as it often takes a circuitous route so sometimes take over an hour.. See their website www.alilaguna.it for the various routes and their timetables.

A private water taxi will take you directly from your Hotel to the Marco Polo landing stage in 20/30 minutes depending on the location of your Hotel but the price is substantially more than the Alilaguna fare if there are only two of you. If you are a party then the private water taxi can be much more reasonable as the price is for the launch, not per passenger.

The alternative is as Sidneynick writes - ACTV vaporetto from the landing stage nearest to your Hotel and then either the ACTV bus or the ATVO coach from Piazzale Roma to Marco Polo. They both take about the same time for the journey.

Journey time depends entirely on where you are staying.

Alilaguna from fondamaente nove or Madonna del Orto takes 20- 30 minutes

From San Marco over an hour

Bus from Piazzale Roma is 20- 30 mins .

Taxi generally 20-30 mins from most central places

Take the ACTV vaporetti to Piazzale Roma, then board the ACTV express bus to Marco Polo airport. Bus is about 30 minutes. This is the cheaper option instead of taking water taxi to airport.

Just recently returned from Italy trip - give yourself 1.5 hours to travel with the stop and time to purchase tickets.
