Arriving in Venice late at night

Our Ryanair flight arrives at Treviso at 21h05 and we have purchased their transport to Mestre. We need to get to Fondemente Nuovo - lines 4.2 or 5.2. Does anybody know up until what time these lines run? The other option is to go to the Ca D'Oro stop, and walk a bit further to our hotel - Ca' Riccio. The thought of wandering lost around Venice with luggage in the dark is not an appealing one.

Also, at this time of night, is it possible to purchase a travel card, and from where?

Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks so much, that is good information - My friend bought the bus ticket at the same time when purchasing the air ticket, and she said it was to Mestre. If this is so, then would we have to get the train to Venice station?

Oh, Ok. I need to tell the hotel the approximate time of arrival, so I also need to know how long it takes to get by bus from Treviso airport, and then to F, Nuovo, Sorry about all the questions!

Remember that the 5:2 vaporetto goes from the stop 'A' at Piazzale Roma which is round the corner from the other stops just keep walking round following the canal. You can cut through walking under the people mover saving time but only if you already have your vaporetto tickets as there is no ticket booth there and tickets cost more on board.

There is no extra cost for the single ride vaporetto ticket on board, it is still €7 ( http://www.actv.it/en/movinginvenice/prices ). It is only for those that have a "VENEZIA UNICA" card (what used to be called until a few days ago the iMob CartaVenezia) that the discounted fare is different if purchased in advance or purchased onboard.

There is a new rule though, which doesn't make much sense, which requires you to have a valid ticket to enter the boarding areas (the "imbarcadero" which is usually a rectangular floating dock, as it is at Piazzale Roma). It seems absurd that you can board the vaporetto without a ticket and ask for it upon boarding, but cannot use the boarding structure which connects the land to the vaporetto without a valid ticket... typically Venetian (ill-)logic I suppose.

So with this new rule, will we not be able to buy the ticket on board? I am just worried about queues taking up valuable time. Can the passes be bought online in advance?
