I will be in Venice for Christmas/ New Years and my question is do the water taxi's run all night or is there a particular time that they stop? Thank you so much!

Private water taxis have a small surcharge during the night but are available, especially if booked in advance. Try Consorzio Motoscafi Venezia for a quote for the journey you are interested in.

See www.actv.it for details of all the water bus lines, timetables and fares.

A few years back we arrived very late at Marco Polo just before christmas due to delay at Schiepol. Then had to wait 2 hours to report missing luggage. Telephoned on water taxi line to be told taxi would arrive at 6 am! Rescued by land taxi driver who took us to his friends water taxi at Piazzale Roma . Arrived at hotel at 3am. So book in advance if poss.
