Hi,

If you look to the right of your post you will see a section called "Top questions about Venice" - the first topic - "Arriving and departing" covers most of your queries.

Try tripadvisor.com/Travel-g187870-s301/Venice:I… to get oriented, and then return with any specific questions.

I assume you are travelling to Venice in February 2014 and not the long-past February 2013. You do not say when in February you plan to visit Venice but Hotels are well booked up for Carnivale.by now.

The second week as the. OP says should be fine as Carnival is 22/02-4/03 this year.

I would book your hotel and then come back and we can advise on the best way to get there....

Best way is water tax if you are arriving at Marco Polo Airport.! Travel in style, and a lot of fun zipping across the lagoon then gliding into the canals of the city. But it is also the most expensive way (100+ euros)--if that's not a problem, do it.

Otherwise, do let us know your hotel. Transport options include the ferry (Alilaguna)and a couple of different land bus choices--then your feet and/or water bus (vaporetto).
