Hey just wondering if anybody could tell me the times that buses run from Rovinj to Venice in April?? Do tickets have to be booked in advance or can they simply be bought at the station before departing??

Otherwise, all year round except on Sundays, there are two buses in the morning from Rovinj to Trieste: 5:40, 7:40.

www.autostazionetrieste.it/index.php…

Then from Trieste to Venice by train (Trieste bus station and train station are next)

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question on the bus Rovinj-Trieste. I don't find any information even at http://www.rovinj.co/en/

Some more information on

virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/Croatia/Ist…

see especially the post on 4 November 2007.

Regarding the Trieste-Venezia train, please consult the schedules at

www.trenitalia.com (click on UK flag).

Set a date within the next week to see all the trains.

If you plan to take a train that is classified as "Intercity", "Frecciabianca "or "Frecciargento", a reservation is compulsory; and if you are sure of your leaving time you should buy the ticket on line on the above site (or at "Italiarail" site) as soon as possible to take advantage of discounts.

If the train is classified "Regionale" or "Interregionale" (quite low fares...) the reservation is neither necessary nor possible, and you have just to buy the ticket at Trieste station (ticket booth or vending machines). Usually there is plenty of seats on these trains.

In the case of trains without a seat reservation, in Italy it is necessary to validate the ticket at the machines provided for this purpose, before boarding the train.

try this for your Rovinj to trieste

a curved ball but you are so close......if a few spare days take a trip to ljubljana / Bled in slovenia not much of a diversion and well worth the effort.
