7 day transport ticket

Hi

first timers to Venice!

Just wondering ,is it cost effective to buy a 7 day pass ,inc rtn airport trip on boats/buses?

Or just get airport/venice rtn,as walking seems very easy to get around.

The full tickets are 75 euro each and there are 3 of us.

We are in Venice for 4 days

Cheers Phil

A lot depends how mobile you are, Venice can be hard on the feet, but a 7 day pass is actually €50, I would think it worth it as each one off ride is €7.

I think the passes are worth getting. If you make just eight single trips on a vaporetto you will save money. Or you could buy a three day card for just 35 euros.

Where are you staying? If you are near the centre of Venice and enjoy walking then you may not need to make much use of the vaporetti.

If you are only in Venice for 4 days then buying a 7 day traval pass hardly seems worthwhile as the ACTV passes are available for shorter periods.

Whether you get one for any period depends on how likely you are to need it. Getting around in Venice itself, it is easy to walk as distances are not great and there is always a great deal to see as you walk around. All you need is a good street mao.

However, if you plan to go out to the islands in the lagoon - Giudecca, S. michele, Murano, Mazzorbo, Burano and Torchello or over to the Lido then a travel pas for a day or two is probably worthwhile. Certainly a trip on a vaporetto down the length of the Grand Canal isa fine experience but you can do that on a single ticket at 7 euros per person.

Yes, there is a stand in the arrivals area that sells them. There are also ticket offices at major vaporetto stops and ticket machines at most vaporetto stops. I don't know whether they take cards.

Not all the machines take cards. At the ferrovia funny enough behind the manned ticket booths there is one.

so it may be better to purchase online prior, since you can use credit card- then convert the voucher to the pass at the airport
