3 day trip to Venice in March

Hi My wife and I are going to Venice for 3 days in March. If we can't get booked in on a tour of the Doges Palace or St Marks Basilica, can we still get in these two places and If so can we get hold of a guide once in these places.

This is urgent so hopefully someone out there can help pronto.

Best regards

Mostly the Doge's Palace is a self guided tour. They have the pathway marked with ropes and at each room there are large cards with information on the room, its history and decoration. There is maybe a small advantage in booking tickets ahead of time as there may be a queue, but we have never done that.

If you want the Secret Itinerary tour, you need to book on-line in advance.

St Marks does have some guided tours at 11am in tourist season, April to October, so I guess that excludes you.

basilicasanmarco.it/eng/… but you can instead book a time to visit which then allows you to skip the lines

Make sure to dress appropriately, shoulders and knees covered for women, long trousers worn and shoulders covered for men.
