My husband and I will be visiting Tuscany for a business trip this summer, but we also would like to take the opportunity to visit Rome and Venice. We will probably have only one night in Venice. We plan to take a train from Florence to arrive in Venice at night and then basically we will have the next day to explore Venice before we take another train back to Florence in evening. We realize this is a super short stay and time to see Venice, but we just want to get the feel of Venice since I read so much about this 'one of a kind of city' in Italy, perhaps the world. Where do you recommend to stay? Given we'll come and leave by train, where should I book a hotel; and how do we get to the hotel from train station? Also, any suggestion/ideas about what to do/prioritize in a day (morning to evening) would be very helpful. Thank you very much.
