Jewish Quarter - Venice, Italy

What is the best way to get to the Jewish Quarter from the ship terminal. We will be in Venice on November 9, 2014.

People mover to Piazzale Roma, then walk.

From Piazzale Roma it is also possible to catch the vaporetto to Guglie (n° 4.2 or n° 5.2 lines) or San Marcuola (n°1 line) to significantly shorten the walk.

Interesting suggestion from IHV to take a vaporetto. It's only a 15 minute walk, but it's a pretty ugly walk, esp. from the front of the train station to the Guglie bridge. It's just about the ugliest section of Venice, sadly, with trinket vendors cramming the sidewalks among a sea of humanity. If you're getting a vaporetto pass, I would second the suggestion for taking the vaporetto, now that I think about it.

I spent three nights in that area a couple years back, the suggestion to catch the Guglie vaparetto is dead on. The actual Canaraggio area is lovely - it's the walk there that can be a gauntlet if you are arriving with thousands of others from a cruise. Great place to get a snack in that area: Al Timon restaurant. Ciccetti are excellent, it's nothing fancy but they serve good food, have a friendly way and are very convenient to your destination!
