Short trip to Florence?

Hi! We will be in Venice for a cruise this July. After the cruise, we were thinking of taking a 2-3 day trip to Florence. Any suggestions? We are traveling with my mom and our two boys. Thank you :)

May be best to post on the Venice forum

Very easy, a 2 hour train ride. We stay at the Hotel Pendini, well run and well located. Florence is a great city,

all kinds of things to see. Look it up on wkiipedia travel.

I think sophie8 meant Florence Forum.

While in the Florence Forum, look to the right under FAQ's for information on the museums & sites.

www.trenitalia.com and www.italotreno.it are the 2 train competitors. On Trenitalia, click the UK flag to the right, the stations are Venezia S. Lucia and Firenze S.M. Novella.

www.venere.com and www.booking.com are 2 sites you can look for a hotel by price, location and amenities - read the reviews!!! The star system is different in Italy, i.e. a star of having an elevator, there are some quite nice 2 & 3 star hotels.
