Late arrival at 2AM. Is it possible to check in any hotels?

Hi all! We will be arriving late to Venice at 2AM. Will there be taxis around and will it be possible for us to check in any hotels at that time? Thanks!

Thanks! We are arriving by plane via Volotea Airlines. We are just worried that there are no hotels for us to check in and we will have to stay at Marco Polo until morning. Will there be taxis during that time? (2AM) Thanks again!

Re the hotel, of course make sure they have an all night check in - on the hotel website or confirm by email, and you will most probably need to reserve it for the night before as well 2 AM is a late check in for the day before, not an early check in for that day, unless agreed by the hotel

If you are arriving at Marco Polo airport and not Treviso airport you have several options. You could hire an expensive private water taxi from either consorziomotoscafivenezia or veneziataxi. The advanatge of this means of travel is it would take you direct to your Hotel if it has canal frontage or otherwise to the canal-side closest to your Hotel.

Alternatively you could take a land taxi from the rank outside the airport Arrival Hall or book one in advance, to take you the 20 minute ride to Piazzale Roma. The ACTV water buses call at Piazzale Roma and run an all night service. Check on www.actv.ity for thier night-time routes and use a Hotel close to one of their landing stages.

As for a 2 am arrival at your Hotel you should check with the Hotel to see if they have a night porter to open the front door for you.

The ACTV bus runs 24/7 and it takes you Piazziale Roma. From there you can catch The Number 1 Vaporetto which runs all night. Be sure your hotel offers a 24 hour reception service (check the web site). You might just consider booking a room at a hotel close to the airport relax and start out for Venice after you have slept a bit. If you have never been to Venice it is easier to navigate and orient yourself to your surroundings in the daylight...especially if your hotel is not on the grand canal.

The ACTV bus from the airport (line 5) does NOT run 24h/24 but only between 4 a.m. and 1 a.m. and waterbus line 1 does NOT run all night (it's line N which circulates between 11 pm and 5 am - and it has fewer stops than line 1)

Arriving at Marco Polo at 2:00am means you will probably get to your hotel earliest 3:00am depending on where your hotel is situated and your means of transport to get there. Definitely get a hotel that has a reception onsite that is manned and opened 24/7.

Land taxi possibly to Piazzale Roma . ( there is a free phone to call near to the taxdi stand - you might have a wait though ).. Water taxi you would need to pre book then call the switchboard when you land to send the boat up to you. Mosdt hotels in Venice have a night porter so I wouldn't worry about that!

How did you go with your late arrival? I am looking at a similar flight arrival time.
