Getting from Airport to Hotel Antico Doge...Advice!

Hey guys,

Subject tells it all, need to get from marco polo airport to Hotel Antico Doge. What is the best way? I have read all the wikis but it is still confusing.

Also how to get from that hotel to S.Luzia station?

Cheers!

You have a variety of options.

A private water taxi is the most expensive but very direct. Your hotel doesn't have a private dock, so not sure how close they can get you to the hotel. (€100 about, per boat, not per person, great if traveling with several people)

You could also consider a shared water taxi, less cost, and it will stop at Rialto. (€25pp, must book for two people=€50)

the Aliliaguna boat is from the airport to Rialto, €15 pp

you could also get a bus, then the vaporetto as directed by the hotel's webpage.

Coming from the airport with luggage, a water taxi (private or shared) or the Alilaguna are your best options. Just depends on your budget!

Your Hotel is in Campo S. Aposostoli in Cannaregio, This is about equidistant from the Rialto and Ca'd'Oro water bus landing stages so two cheap alternatives are the Alilaguna ferry (see www.alilaguna.it for details of their lines and timetables) or to take the ACTV bus or the ATVO coach from Marco Polo to Piazzale Roma and then take the No 1 water bus to Ca'd'oro or either the No 1 or No2 water bus further along the Grand Canal to the next landing stage at Rialto.

the very expensive alternative is a rpivate water taxi wich can be booked at the deks in the Arrivals hall at Marco Polo and will take20/25 minutes to reach the canalside closest to your Hotel. the Rio Sant'Apostoli gives access to the Campo so not far to walk.

Thanks for the fantastic advice above. So looking at the map, it looks like Ca'd'Oro is closer and possiblly easier to walk to with luggage.

Next question is how to get to S Luzia train station for our train back to Rome!

Cheers guys

Back to Ca d'Oro Vaporetto to Ferrovia, ( opposite way of San Marco)
