Venice airport to hotel

We are staying at Hotel Saturnia near the Giglio stop. I am looking at water taxi or Alilaguna for my options. Taking the water bus looks crowded and slow, especially after traveling for 18 hours on 3 planes to get there. Is it worth it to pay the extra for the water taxi? I keep reading horror stories about taxi drivers dropping people off at a different place than door side to their hotel (ours has one in the canal). My husband thinks water taxi is waste of money, I am worried it will take us 2 hours to get there on the water bus!

A Water Taxi is definitely the way to go if you do not want't to take a long time to get to your Hotel, you should not have a problem , you should be taken to the Hotel if it has water access,

A Alilaguna ferry will also take over an hour, and you would still have a walk to the Hotel,

Yes your hotel is in a side canal and going to the door will incur a supplement of approx €15-20. Venice link ( shared taxi) will only go to a pre fixed stop which will mean a walk.

alilaguna will take you to san Marco then you have a 10 minute walk approx.

The hotel is between 2 vap stops giglio and vallaresso both you have roughly the same distance to go.

If you do decide the taxi then try veneziataxi simply as they try to get into the side canal. Consorzio are not so willing......

Its around 250 meters from the Giglio stop to your Hotel with only 1 small bridge to go over (That is around 20 stairs in all). It depends how much luggage and how comfortable you feel to walk such a short distance. The standard buses tend to be crowded but since you are starting from the main stop you should be able to get seat and enjoy your ride to the Giglio.

If you buy longer hour 'bus' tickets, the same tickets could be used for your further travelling whilst staying in Venice as opposed to the one way fee trip of a water taxi. After all worst case scenario get a taxi on your arrival if you see the the standard water buses are too busy. Water taxis are in abundance.

@3 implies you are using a vaporetto, water bus, not the Alilaguna. This requires you to get a bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma then a vaporetto. That will take a bit over an hour.

The water taxi option can either be individual, which will take you to your hotel door if possible, or shared, which will take you to pre-arranged stops. It is a bit cheaper.

Hi Lynn B

Do you have any recommendations on the Water Taxi company?

And do you know how much will be?

Thanks!
