Verona to Merano?

My husband and I have five nights - and were thinking of spending 2 nights in Merano and then driving back to Verona for the remaining time. Does anyone know how long it would take to drive from the Verona airport to Merano? Also - is there anywhere else worth stopping in between?

It should take approx 90 minutes to drive from Verona to Merano if you take the motorway.

A nice leisurely way would also be driving along the shores of Lake Garda as far as Riva and then heading for Trento and Merano.

Depends how quickly you want to get there.

Merano is lovely and has some great scenery and walks.

You could stop for lunch at castel toblino and from there take the motorway towards Trento and Merano if you want to make a day of it.

Castel toblino is in the area above lake Garda know as the valley of the lakes and is set in the most beautiful spot surrounded by a lake.

The food is excellent.

While in Merano don't miss a trip to Lagundo and "Birreria Forst" for a delicious fresh-made beer and some tipical meal from Tyrol.

During late spring and summer the garden of the brewery is the best place to stay for a lunch under the trees...

Lagundo is not more than 5 minuts by car from Merano.
