I think that rent a car is the best and cheapest way... if your hotel doesn't organize a shuttle service to the Opera.

Try at Sirmione bus station, maybe they organize some special race right for the Opera occasion.

Many thanks, Dave

We are already going to hire a car, but the major problem is parking within walking distance of the Arena. We have no idea where we could park, but reckon it is almost impossible. Hence the need to book a car from Sirmione and back. - 31 Euros per person each way which is a lot when the 31 is multiplied by 2 and then by 5!

I have asked the Tourist Information in Verona, but, as everyone says, there is no transport back to Sirmione after the performance.

Any ideas for parking the car?

Many thanks

What about "Arena Parking" ??? ;)

3 minuts n the back of the Arena located in Piazza Cittadella, or the next parking located 5 minuts from the Arena (i don't remeber the name).

Anyway... go straight to Piazza Brà where the Arena is located, you can only drive with the Arena on your left side, at the stoplight turn to the right under the arch and you have a square with a parking over and under the ground level. If not there... then from the arch (after you pass it turning right form Piazza Brà) go straight on for 500 meters and the next parking entrance will be on your right side.

If even here is full... then try on the back of Castelvecchio to the other side of the river... ask for Arsenale. Free parking around this square or vallet parking inside the Arsenale. The cross the bridge on foot and in 4 minuts you are in Piazza Brà again...

Dear Dave,

Very many thanks indeed. I suppose that if we go early enough, it should be OK with the details of parking which you have given. besides, it would give us some time in the later afternoon to have a look at some of the sights of Verona.

Kidest regards

Hamish
