Where to go in Puglia? Sandy beaches... not too crowded

Hi!

Planning to go to Puglia the first week in July. We will rent a car and go around for 8 days. We are planning to stay in 2-3 different places and do some days trips from these places.

Where should we stay? We are looking for charming villages, not too crowded and nice sandy beaches...

Recommendations for B&B are also welcome! (not more than 100 eur/night)

Thanks! //Anna

Im not an experty, but I would definately check out Lecce, Brindisi, or Gallipoli. And for charming villages, you pretty much have to go to Alberobello--no beach there, though.

We are also going to Puglia at the beginning of July. We are staying at Tenuta Monacelle in Selva di Fasano. It has good reviews on here and Expedia and is central to the Trulli area, being near to Alborobello, Ostuni and Locorotundo. Looks like a good base for touring, we are also hiring a car.

Many excellent beaches around the Gargano. Manfredonia, Siponto, Peschici, and Vieste. These are more native beaches, not tourist. In July and August, they can be crowded.
