We are planning our honeymoon for late September/early October and have decided to start in Paris then spend time in Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna. We originally planned to spend the last 6 nights in Puglia, but the more I read the more it seems like we would spend a lot of our time traveling between places. We would split it up with 3 nights in the southern part and 3 nights in the northern part - but it seems like we would still spend a lot of time traveling to see the things we want to see. So now we are considering Sicily instead. I would love some advice on which region we should choose. It seems clear that we would need a car in Puglia, is the same true for Sicily?
We love good food and exploring beautiful cities/towns, we aren't huge on museums, we like nature/natural beauty. We love cities/towns by the water - although we would likely only spend half of a day or maybe one full day actually at the beach. We loved Positano and Rome, and Venice is one of my absolute favorite cities.
Thank you in advance for your help!
