Bluewater Apartments, Alghero

First-time user to Trip Advisor so thank you in advance to all the Alghero forum contributors; particularly the author of the Dining Review.

Like many Brits this year we are changing our annual travel plans to fit in with "altered circumstances", so the annual trek to the other side of the world is out.

I have just been on the Bluewater Apartments website, which is very informative, to discover they have 30% off all of their apartments. I have found some very positive feedback on Tripadvisor about them; but wanted specifically to know if anyone has stayed at the apartment called Rafaella? It has just the sort of decor we like and seems to be right in the middle of the old part of Alghero. At the moment it's maximum charge is 77euros for August/Sept which is perfect for our budget.

teresatravel,

There are a couple of excellent reviews of "Rafaella" penned by fellow Trip Advisor members on this site.

Thank you CS - we are going to book. They have been most helpful with all sorts of travel tips and between your contributions and their website have plenty to go on.

I will be sure to review them when we return

Tell me, are the numbers of travellers significantly down in Alghero? How busy does it get - we are planning to visit in September but may bring our holiday forward to May

To be honest, there is not a great deal of difference between May & September, although the sea is very much warmer in September.

There are few crowds in either month and prices are probaly a shade cheaper in May. High season rates in the less money grabbing facilities begin mid June and end Mid September discounts of up to 30% can be found either side of those dates.

Good Luck.

Hi,

We stayed at Casa Rafaella in Nov 07 and again in April 08 and were very impressed by it. It's slap bang in the middle of the old town and is on the top floor. The stairs are pretty narrow going up to it, but it's a very old property so that's to be expected!!

Inside the apartment was very well equipped, a few pots and pans so you can cook some great food bought from the local market (5 mins walk away).

All in all it's a great apartment and I'm sure we'll be going back there again. The restaurants are absolutely stunning!! Mabrouk and Al Tuguri being our favourites...

Enjoy!!
