Trains, planes and automobiles

Hi FOlks,

I have been planning my trip to Sicily for months now, I am very slow, thanks for all the useful information so far.

I am trying to reduce costs as much as possible. I had originally planned to fly from Naples to Catania however the priceis 417 Euros for two!

Can anyone advise another route and method of transport that I am able to book online?

Lynn

Hi lynnos,

Air Italy offers flights from Naples to Catania for less than 100 euros.

Air Italy:

www.airitaly.eu/index.php?lang=uk&ml=uk

Time is money and the closer to the time of travel, the more expensive the flight.

Air One and Alitalia also fly from Naples to Catania and Palermo.

Air One:

Alitalia:

http://www.alitalia.com/IT_IT/

Naples or Salerno would be the closest ports for Sicily.

TTT Lines provides service from Naples to Catania.

TTT Lines:

http://www.tttlines.it/

There is also ferry service from Salerno to Messina on Caronte Tourist.

Caronte Tourist:

You could also rail from Naples.

Trenitalia:

Though the train is better, you could also bus from Naples to Messina on SAIS.

SAIS:

http://www.saisautolinee.it/

Getting There (Messina):

And you could always hire a car!!

Hi Lynn,

about flights, have you tried:

http://www.flyairone.it/en/

www.airitaly.eu/index.php?lang=uk&ml=uk

you should be able to book ferries on-line. Napoli - Catania:

http://www.tttlines.it/en/

you can also ferry from Naples (or Salerno) to Palermo.

You other option is the train Naples - Catania. €29.50 on the Express night-train. €40 on the Eurostar. €61.50 Express night-train with sleeper carriage, and so on...:

http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

and last, the night-bus naples - Catania €33:

When are you planning to travel?

Where would you like to visit?
