Stromboli to Rome

Buon giorno

After my trip to Sicily, I will need to travel from Stromboli to Rome. What is the best way to do this?

Grazie ciao

Buon giorno!

1. Ideally you should take the ferry to Naples from Stromboly and then just rail to Rome but at the moment the feries are having some problems:

2. Ferry back to Milazzo:

and then back to Catania for a flight to Rome:

or train from Milazzo to Rome:

Yes, the ferry schedule currently only runs until 14 January.

Seasonal ferry service is expected.

If service is reinstated from Stromboli to Naples, you would be able to ferry from Stromboli to Naples and rail from Naples to Rome.

If you were to fly from Catania to Rome, you would have several options.

Since you’ll be travelling in July, you could take Giuntabus from the port in Milazzo directly to Catania’s airport.

Or you could hydrofoil from Stromboli to Messina on Ustica Lines and take SAIS from Messina directly to Catania’s airport.

Ustica Lines:

You could also take the Garage delle Isola private shuttle from Milazzo’s port to the Catania airport. Last season, Garage delle Isola offered a private shuttle service for € 25,00.

Garage delle Isola – Click on Services; then Taxi-Minibus-Autobus:

Or from Milazzo’s port, you could take the AST bus to Milazzo’s train station, rail from Milazzo to Catania and take the AMT bus from Catania to the airport.

Giuntabus also runs service from Milazzo to Messina, and you could proceed from Messina to Catania's airport.

Even if you were to rail from Sicily to Rome, hydrofoil from Stromboli to Messina and catch the train in Messina. Messina’s port is right near the train station.

You could also take Ustica Lines from Stromboli to Reggio Calabria and fly from Reggio’s airport to Rome.

Aeroporto dello Stretto:

Best Wishes!
