Planning a father/son (64/29) trip to Sicily the first week in March. We will rent a car and like smaller towns, villages, italian food, wine, and photography. We fly into Catania and out of Palermo . Thanks to all the info on this board..here is a proposed iteneary.
Fly into Catania, drive to Taormina..spend 2 days/nights. Drive to sights around the area. Then down to Syacusa for 2 days/nights. See sights around the area. Then up early, drive to Argiento and visit the Temples and lunch. Then on over to Erice for the late afternoon and night. Then up early to drive to Palermo dropping car off at airport and take taxi/bus into Palermo for the day and night. Next day taxi/bus to Palermo airport to fly home.
I know some might say not enough time in Palermo, but 6 nights is hard to spread out. Maybe we should skip Palermo (not real fans of big cities) and spend a day/night somewhere else ?
Appreciate any ideas, thoughts or things we might need to add or drop!
