weather in Sicily in April

hi, thinking of a short holiday in April to the Catania area in Sicily. Anyone tell me what the weather is generally like at that time of the year, warm enough to sit outside ? warm enough in a heated pool ? also any recommendations of small towns with the odd restaurants and shops north or south of Catania as a good place to stay in ?

Normally it is warm in Catania in april. The sea is still cold, but the air temperature during the day can reach 25°C or more. If you go to Catania than you have to go Taormina too.

Welcome to Sicily travelwellallthetime!

Sicily’s weather has been unpredictable these past few years, so it would really be impossible to predict what you might find next April.

April is prior to Sicily’s pool season, and heated pools are not common in Sicily. Some hotels in Taormina open their pools with the start of the tourist season which begin with Easter. Easter is late in 2014 (20 April).
