Also wondering same thing - using Catania as home base for 9 day trip...renting a car, too. So many beaches, trying to get a "best of" list going.

Welcome to Sicily aigustem!

The beaches throughout Ragusa province are beautiful and not at all touristy. Half the Bandiera Blu beaches in Sicily are located in Ragusa province.

The seas are very beautiful along the coast in Siracusa, and the seas are slightly warmer along the coast in Siracusa than Ragusa.

Will you hire a car?

Best is subjective, and so it depends on what you want.

Marina di Ragusa is the most serviced beach, but there are many beautiful beaches - Ispica (Santa Maria del Focallo), Pozzallo, Marina di Modica, Sampieri, Cava d’aliga, Donnalucata, Plaia Grande, Marina di Ragusa, Punta Secca, and Scoglitti

Best beach in south between Siracusa and Ragusa:

With a car Ben P, you can also visit the many beaches south of Siracusa, the further south, the better - Arenella, Fontane Bianche, Calabernardo, Lido di Noto, Eloro, Calamosche (especially beautiful, no services, walk in) and the Vendicari Reserve, San Lorenzo, and Marzamemi are south of Siracusa.

Thanks a lot! :))

I have one more question - reading across this forum I found that there are rocky beach (it is not like beach, it is more like two rocks joined with small bridge) in Syracuse town, in Ortigia. But now I can't find this post and don't know where exactly this is :( Maybe, you know?

Yes, Ortigia has a small rocky beach for a swim near Via Nizza. Platform beaches are set up in summer from July to September.

Just to be specifically accurate - There is a small rocky beach for a swim near Via Nizza.

But the rocks are at the Belvedere San Giacomo.
