Best place in Sicily for writing

Hi there! I am looking for a place in Sicily to write for a week. I'd love to find a place that's beautiful and relaxed, but with restaurants and interesting people around to hang out with during the evenings. Ideally I could sneak off to a beach for a swim in the morning before breakfast and before writing, but that's not essential. I just spent a few weeks in Panarea and loved it. I saw Taormina but it felt too touristy. Loved Palermo but it was too city-ish and too busy. Is there any place that's charming that you would recommend? I am thinking about Siracusa but understand there are no beaches there - and I wonder - would a week be too long to spend there?

Thank you for any advice!

A week is not too long in Siracusa, but not a beach destination.

Do you have a car?

Thank you so much! I am leaning towards going there. I hear great things. I don't have a car but have no problem taking buses around. Cheers and thanks again.
