The Botanic Garden in Palermo was a jewel, it's fallen a bit in standards and has been closed off and on over the last years due to staffing problems and strikes - but its worth a visit if you can find it open.

In addition to Palermo's Orto Botanico, there are the English Garden (Giardino Inglese) and Villa Trabia, as well as Villa sul Mare, Villa Giulia, piazza Vittoria, and La Favorita.

In Palermo, also Villa D'Orleans is historical and delightful (open in the morning). Villa Malfitano too, but it's harder to find it open...

Grazie mille biondo!

What is the status of the Villa d'Orleans?

livesicilia.it/2014/…

Even if the villa is closed at Villa Malfitano, the grounds might be open.

Villa Malfitana has no grounds to speak of - some grass and a large magnolia tree. Theres not alot else for gardeners...

Vagabonda - Thanks for your fantastic answer .

I usually include gardens in my travel plans when ever I visit another country - especially if the climate is different to that in the uk.

Thanks

Perhaps not interesting or maintained, but...

Il parco di Villa Malfitano che si estende per circa 7 ettari rappresenta un esempio di straordinaria bellezza!

Prego s55jce,

May you enjoy the gardens, especially those in Taormina and Catania.

Il Giardino della Kolymbetra is interesting as well.
