Palermo beaches

Hello,

My husband and I are reaching Palermo on July 19. We booked all the nights in Palermo. I was wondering what is the best way to go to the beaches (such as: Aspra Beach,Cefalu Beach, San Vito Lo Capo Beach etc) and back to Palermo the same day. We are traveling on foot. Do the bus lines run in the evenings? How often do they run?

Thanks

Dorothy

Welcome to Sicily DorotejaBudaite!

Palermo doesn't have a beach, but Mondello is your most convenient beach to reach by AMAT bus from Palermo.

Cefalù is also an easy train or SAIS Trasporti bus ride as well.

San Vito Lo Capo is far from Palermo, and although Russo runs direct service, you might not find the schedules accommodating for a return in one day, and you would spend hours on the bus.

Take the train from Palermo to Bagheria, and then the AST bus from Bagheria to Aspra.

This is prime beach season, so beaches are lively, and the bus to Mondello is crowded, especially on weekends.

Trapani is a direct and easy drive from Palermo on Segesta, but 2 hours in each direction, and Trapani itself is low on attractions.
