I am a 65 yr old female professor, traveling alone to Sicily for the first time in January. I had hoped to get some writing done, and while there is plenty to see everywhere, I do not want to spend my 2 weeks arsing about on buses trying to get to it all. I am flying into Catania, where I will spend three nights, and then wanted to go to Taormina for another three before heading on to Cefalu, where I have already booked 5 nights in a historic spot right on the beach for some think time. I am 1) on a budget and 2) only like quiet historic places/neighborhoods. But I need some advice on Catania to Taormina re transport and advice where to stay in Taormina. And will it be difficult to get to Cefalu from Taormina? Thanks!
