Siracusa tours from Taormina stopping at Catania?

Is it possible for a tour that seems to always start in Taormina to pick up and drop off my wife and I on their regularly scheduled Thursday tours? We need to be picked up at the Best Western in Catania, Hotel Mediterraneo, or at least some place within walking distance of the hotel.

Unfortunately not.

These tours would drive autostrade and not enter Catania.

You could book a private tour from Catania, or take the easy public transport (train or bus) on your own.

Prego OneCitizen,

There's also the possibility of arriving in Siracusa via public transport, and then meeting a guide in Siracusa, especially if you'd like a guide to visit the archaeological sites.

But really Siracusa is easy to explore on your own, and wandering the alleys of ancient Ortigia is a joy!

Thanks for the encouragement.

We are willing to go on our own and wander about. I just need to educate myself further as to what, where, when and how it can be done. We don't travel until early September so I have my work cut out for me. Any websites that I should be looking at specifically?

Then perhaps you will OneCitizen!

You might take the train from Catania to Siracusa, or you might take the direct Interbus and AST bus services.

There’s so much to see and do in Siracusa – The Parco Archeologico della Neapolis, Museo Archeologico Regionale Paolo Orsi, Ortigia, Piazza Duomo and the magnificent Duomo, Fonte Aretusa, Castello Maniace, Santa Lucia alla Badia, Ipogeo di Piazza del Duomo, The Temple of Apollo, Castello Eurialo, Church of Santa Lucia, Catacombe di San Giovanni, the Mikva, boat rides, the puppets....
